What is timecode?
Timecode is, in this case, an audio signal that sounds similar to a fax machine.
The sound encodes a digital representation of time.
The CFTIU-1 listens to this signal and the CFWFS-1 App uses this information to synchronise the firing of your display to this time signal.
Do I need timecode?
If your show is just pyrotechnics, not using audio, and does not need to 'look' synchronised to anything else then: no.
If your CFWFS-1 App is both firing and providing the audio then: no, the App will synchronise the display to the music it is also playing.
If your music is being played by a separate PA system then: generally yes, the PA system will also supply the timecode channel to your CFTIU-1.
We say generally because if the display is short (a few minutes) you might get away with manually synchronising the display to the music: simply start playback / start firing at the same time.  In such a short display it's unlikely synchronisation will drift out.
How is the unit powered?
The unit uses power from the USB computer or tablet that you connect it to.
The USB socket of that computer should be able to deliver 0.5 amps (500mA) of current.
Why does the unit not stop bleeping when connected to the computer?
Ensure you have removed the ARM Lock key.
