CFTU-0124 Hand-held Single Cue Trigger / Firing unit

Placeholder Picture

Our CATFire CFTU-0124 is a hand held single cue firing unit / trigger function.

Operating from a single 9v battery this unit boosts the voltage to an ideal 24 volts using a large capacitive discharge circuit (2.7 Joules).

Upon turning on the unit tests the connected electrical circuit, performing a resistance based test to ensure at least 1 Amp of current can flow through the circuit.

Once turned on the unit charges to a ready-to-fire state.  Pressing the FIRE button discharges the energy through the wires.  Once fired the unit will immediately recharge for the next press of FIRE firing / trigger operation.

Strong and sturdy construction supplied with soft silicone boot for more protection and grip.

Bright LED indicators.

Rugged spring binding posts for easy and secure wire connection.

  • Single output.  24 volts D.C. nominal.
  • 2.7 Joules
  • Capacitive discharge circuit.
  • Immediate discharge of energy when powered OFF / FIRE button physically disconnected when OFF.
  • Immediate (re)charge on power on or after FIRE press.
  • Fire igniters over hundreds of metres of wire or trigger a CFTFU-X16 or similar stepper/sequencer unit to take its next programmed action.
  • Strong all metal spring binding posts make wire insertion and removal easy.
  • Large openings take heavy guage wires or several wires as necessary.
  • Large fire button for assured action.
  • Single 9v PP3 Alkaline battery needed.
  • Four hours active powered on time from a single battery.
Battery test
Bright power on indicator.
Power indicator extinguishes when battery is low.  Unit may still charge to full state of readiness even when low to squeeze the last energy out of your battery.
Cue and continuity testing
Resistance based continuity check - ensures 1 amp of firing current may flow when ready to fire.
Bright test indicator to show good continuity.
Cue tests immediately and continously when powered on.
Readiness (firing)
Bright ready indicator shows when capacitive discharge circuit is fully (re)charged.
  • Trigger input with local (on-unit) arming.
  • Fire, control switches, timed patterns on each trigger input received.
  • User programmable sequence on each trigger (mix and match self timed steps too).
  • Current triggered: 1 Amp to trigger.  Up to 60V DC supported, trigger with a simple 9v battery or use our CFTU-0124 trigger unit for maximum convenience.
  • Trigger input is testable up to 50mA even when unit is off.
  • Customisable debounce to remove possibility of noisy signals / or increase sensitivity as needed.
  • Trigger input becomes a wired disarm input when the unit is controlled via radio.
  • Connect to other firing system cues to fire sequences too.
  • UV stable, impact resistant polycarbonate enclosure.
  • IP66 rated, pressure vented to guard against moisture ingress under atmospheric changes.
  • Circuits tropicalised for further moisture protection.
  • -20 to +60 degrees celcius, 90% relative humidity non-condensing.
  • Set up in the most attrocious weather with no concerns: All season tested.
  • Heavy duty spring binding post connection terminals.
  • Stainless steel on/off key switch mechanism - suitable for marine environments Severity 1 (EN60068-2-52).
  • Integrated mounting feet.
  • Internal battery clamping: securely held in place.
  • Mount unit in any orientation.
